Spreken is zilver en zwijgen is goud,
maar als je te lang op je zwijgen vertrouwt.

Ontdek je pas later
met een stevige kater,
het is enkel klater-
goud wat er blinkt.

Waardoor je vergeven
van gelovig streven,
en onmondig beleven
in zwijgen verzinkt.

Dan maak je je ook voor jezelf niet meer moe,
door iets wat je nooit wilde weten.

Wie zwijgt stemt toe.

My apologies to my dear English, American and other watchers. ^^; One in Dutch after such a long long time of rhyming in a foreign language. I'd try to translate it as well, but the rhythm and rhyme would be pretty much lost.

Not really... It goes a little something like this:

Speaking is silver and silence is gold. But if you rely on your silence to much, you'll find out it's not real gold that shines. So because of your continued silence, you'll be forever forgotten. And you don't tire yourself anymore, thinking of that rule. He who shuts up, agrees.
